Yesterday was a day full of activity. We started the day by going over to grandpa Jensens 87th birthday. He is doing very well, his memory is actually improving and he will sit an visit with you. We had to leave early to try to make it to Caleb's football game, but I didn't make it so I will have to be sure and make it next Saturday. Caleb is playing quarterback. I guess he has quite the passing arm. Not only can he throw it far, he can also hit his target. He is feeling very good about himself, but he is not getting a big head. It has been extremely good for him. I see Grandma and grandpa going to a lot of JR. high and High school football games in the future.

Matt had a game against Weiser Saturday so after missing the football game we headed out for Weiser. It was not one of their best gamed they've played. We think they all had a little to much Homecoming the night before. Matt played and he didn't even play as well as he did in the last game. The score was not so good. 2 to 9.
The one of the referees was ok the other one was louzie. He was by Weisers goal and he didn't know what off side were. Oh well!!! They are setting up for penalty kick here. Yep that's Weiser and our goalie. They made it.

The boys came over when we got home and I was mowing the front yard. Jacob and Joey started playng tag. Erik got in on the action and started to play. It did not take the two older boys to figure out the Erik was an easy caught. Erik was then it and he could not caught the other two. I kept mowing the lawn in the middle of the game. Giggling but tiring out of trying get is older brothers, Erik stops and looks at grandma pushing the lawn mower. Then pretty soon I can see him out of the corner of my eye getting in position an then he came on a dead run right up behind me and slapped me on the back side. He started to giggle and run the other direction. He finally had got some body and he wasn't it no more. Grandma was now in the game. He was pretty pleased with himself. He is definitely a problem solver. Needless to say, grandma never got the lawn finished before I had to go to the Relief Society Broadcast. Was that a wonderful meeting.

SO there goes another day in my life. My tomatoes still are the bucket to be canned along with one more batch of pears. But I have the memory a little boy giggle in my ears.

Ok I am in trouble. Matt had a soccer game tonight. The Huskies against the Kuna Kaveman, we tied 3 to 3. It was an awesome game. Matt got to play, he did fantastic the best game he has ever played, and Mom forgot the camera. He really hustled and he even read where the ball was going. Mom and dad got pretty excited. After the game he went to the girls powder puff football game to watch Tosha play. She borrowed MAtts old soccer shoes from last year and his royal blue socks. After the powder puff game they are all going to the bomb fire. Oh to be young again.

Grandpa, Joey, and Mike had a great day last Monday. After everyone went to school, they loaded up the boats and went to Horsethief. All had a great time. Joey informed me when they returned home that he was the official net boy. I guess when he caught his first fish everyone around the lake could hear him giggle and shout with excitement. Boy did he think he was big stuff. Everyday comes and ask Grandpa if they can go fishing again. The fish in the middle is the big German Brown grandpa caught. Joey wants to go caught one of those big ones.

I took this picture of Matt and his team at the very end of his game. They played Bishop Kelly, they are supposed to be the team in the district. They lost but only 2 to 0. Matt got to play in the second half. He did a really good job, his foot work is really improving and he is getting more aggressive. Porter and Peyton can you see Uncle Matt, he is number 14. The coach told him he was really pleased with the way he was playing, and to keep up the good work.

Yesterday it rained like crazy, we received over an inch of rain in less than 24 hours. That is a lot for Poor Idaho. Wanda Fluckiger past away and I spent the day helping out at the funeral. We started at 9:00 am and stayed till after 6.

September 13,2008

Well today was just beautiful as far as the weather goes. It was about 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Matt and I got up this morning and went to the soccer games in Homedale. Matt has been really sick with tonsillitis the past three days but he was finely feeling better so he went. He was coughing pretty good so the coach didn't play him, he didn't want Matt to get sick again. They won though 4 to 2. Unlce Ned and Aunt Gloria came to the game it was really cool seeing them there.

Matt is driving himself to the stake dance tonight by himself, because he can now drive home when the the dance is over in the dark by himself. Ya know it's kinda hard to see your baby grow up. I am trying to decided if it is because I want him to stay around and let me mother for a lot longer, before he leaves and goes out into the world, or if I don't like the thoughts of just growing old. Oh well I guess I will just have to adjust.

Shelly went through the temple in August and received her own endowments. It was a wonderful day for her and very special. Stephanie, Uncle James, Aunt Ellen, Grandma Gurney, Travis and Christiana all went to the temple with her. It was joy to be her escort. We truly missed those who were unable to attend.

Good afternoon. Today Grandpa and Mike and Joey went fishing. Joey was so excited he could hardly stand it. They aren't home yet so I am not sure how they did. The weather is wonderful today, it has been about 80 degrees down here so it should be about 70 up at Horsethief. Grandpa wanted to see if the fish they planted last spring had gotten any bigger. They took the pontoon boats.

Matt is playing soccer and he is doing very well. Lynn told him to set a goal everyday, no matter how small. Then work for that goal so that he could tell he was improving everyday. He has been doing that and he is getting excited because he can see improvement. Which in turn makes him feel better about himself.

Matt's 16th birthday

Yesterday was Matt's sixteen birthday. Wow can you believe it. Mom got up and made him his favorite breakfast of hash browns and bacon. Mom then surprised him by going and buying him a pepperoni pizza and setting on the front set of the pick up so he would find it when he went to eat his lunch. But then the day turned into a bummer when he went to soccer practice and the goal got suspended from the team. He was quite bummed about that. Then everyone one to the stake hamburger fry. We teased him saying he should stand and thank everyone for coming to his birthday party. When we returned home we had cake and ice cream. Everyone gave him money. No one could afford anything he wanted, so we decided we give him the cash. He could then add it up and decide what he wanted to get.
