Eric was showing off the kittens to Aunt Shelly. He is so gentle with them. This is Tiggy the Bus Safety tiger. I had to dress up for 3 days to do bus safety at Butte View. I got to be naughty and do all the bad things on the bus. Like stick out my tongue, hang out the window, and pester the driver. Also run down the isle. The kids thought I was wonderful. They all had to give me hugs and kisses. Eric was scared of me when I got home. Joey just giggled and giggled. Jake couldn't believe that Tiggy was at grandma's house. I wanted to go into Shelly's classroom, and surprise her and her kids, but they wouldn't let me. They said it would cause to much of a distraction and take away from the bus safety. It was a lot of fun. Hope I can do it next year, but only when the weather is cool, because it is really hot in the suit.

October 26,2008

Well what a week. The weather has been cool but beautiful. It has frosted every night and the leaves are really turning colors. It is simply beautiful. Every morning I drive the bus I watch all the changing colors and the watch the leaves fall from the trees. The ground has been iced with a little frost and a slight low lying fog hangs on the ground in spots as the sun peaks over the mountains. I've seen some beautiful Kodak moments, but the boss would not be happy if I stopped the bus and took pictures. So I store them in my memory pod in the brain. Once the sun comes up it has warmed up in the sixty and it has been a nice fall. All though we have had to burn a fire in the fireplace at least once a day.

Has you can tell this week was Erik birthday, number two. It was on October 23, on Thursday, but we celebrated it on Saturday hi dad was home. Aunt Shelly gave him a moving dinosaur and all his brothers gave him a dinosaur. Grandma and grandpa got him a pair of pants and shirt, and his mom and dad gave him cloths too. His mom made him the cutest dinosaur cake, she had to leave it at our house to keep it save till the party.

Here is a picture of Sarah. What a look. I think she is all ready thinking up things to do when she gets bigger.

WELL IT FOOTBALL SEASON IN EMMETT IDAHO.... WE WENT TO CALEBS LAST FOOTBALL GAME ON SATURDAY. CALEB IS THE BIGGEST KID ON HIS TEAM, I KINDA FELT SORRY FOR THE OTHER GUYS. I ASKED STEPHANIE IF CALEB WAS SUPPOSED TO KNOCK THOSE LITTLE KIDS ON THEIR BUMS LIKE THAT EVERY TIME. SHE SAID ' ITS FOOTBALL' HE JUST PUSHED THE KIDS OVER LIKE THEY WERE AS LITE AS A FEATHER. THEY HAD A LITTLE RED HEAD THAT WAS PRETTY QUICK. SO THEY WON. CALEB BLOCKED AND THE OTHER KID RAN. IT WAS FUN. JOE AND ERIK HAD FUN RUNNING AROUND AND JAKE WAS GLAD WHEN THE WHOLE THING WAS OVER.

MATT GOT TO BLESS THE SACRAMENT TWO SUNDAY AGAIN. I CAN NOT DISCRIBE THE FEELING YOU GET WHEN YOUR CHILDREN SERVE OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. I WAS SO PROUD OF HIM AND THE REVERANCE THAT HE SHOW WHILE PARTICIPATING IN THIS SACRED ORDINANCE.

MATT, MIKE,CALEB, JOEY AND STEPHANIE ALL WENT HUNTING THE OTHER DAY. THEY GAME HOME EMPTY HANDED BUT THEY DID SEE SOME TURKEY'S, ONLY THEY HAD NO TURKEY TAGS.

THE WEATHER HAS BEEN REALLY NICE THIS PAST WEEK, IN THE 60'S AND 70'S. BUT I FEAR IT WILL CHANGE SOON. I GOT THE FIFTH WHEEL WINTERIZED, THE POOL PUT AWAY AND THE BOAT ALL TUCKED IN FOR THE WINTER. I REALLY HOPE I DID THE FIFTH WHEEL CORRECTLY. IT ALWAYS MAKES ME NERVOUS THE FIRST TIME I DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT THE FIRST TIME.

Grandpa celebrated his 52nd birthday on Thursday October 9. He has a great day, the boys "surprised" him with 4 bags of peanut butter Halloween m&m's. One bag from each boy. Then Grandpa received the best birthday card ever from Porter and Peyton. It was so perfect, grandpa said that it was the best card he ever received. He laughed and laughed. It had words like on the Star Wars movie, floating out into space with Space ships. It said
A
long
long,long,long
long time ago..........
Then you open the card and the theme music to the Star Wars Begins to play and you read in bold print....................YOU WERE BORN. Pretty Cool. We are told the Porter picked it out . That makes it even better. Shelly game over after school and made grandpa a chocolate cake with white frosting while I mowed the lawn and did the yard work to surprise grandpa before he woke up.

Matt had his last soccer game today. They held them to only one goal in the first half. I actually thought they might win, but then came the second half. They still played well but we lost 0 to 5.
Uncle Matt got to play in both halves, he did a good job. He has learned a lot and improved a bunch. One of the Hispanic dads is trying to put a team for the indoor legal in the valley. They play a lot on Sunday, but even if Matt can practice with them it will help him a lot.

September 11 2008

It snowed in Boise, they recieved an inch and a half. Can you believe it. Bogus Basin recieved 5 inches and it is snowing there to day. Matt had a soccer game today the first game in the district tournament. They played the number one seat, Skyview, they lost 6 to 1, but they played very well. Matt played about half the game. the wind blew really hard through the whole game. It was only about 35 degrees then subtract the wind chill, it was very very cold. They play again on Monday at 3:00, I don't get to drive them this time. The fire in the fireplace feels really good this evening.

October 10th 2008

This has been a very busy October. We have done a lot of canning, the tomatoes have produced very well and I made a couple of changes on my sweet and sour sauce and it really turned out well. Erik and Joey would come over and help me pick all the tomatoes and we finally got Erik to understand that you only picked the red ones. So he would pick a tomato and hand it to me and say red, red matoe. The boys love jumping on the tramp with Uncle Matt, he is so good with them and he loves having them around. I was afraid that has he became a teenager, his nephews would become an annoyance but he is happy to have them around. At least as long as his friends aren't here.
Sarah was having fun with grandpa. She is starting to really look at the world and recognize people and voices. She will smile and get all excited when she sees her grandpa and grandma. It is fun, we like it. She is getting little chubby legs and you notice there is a little red in her hair. Hasn't she changed? She looks different every day. Soccer season is here in full swing. Grandma getting to to watch two games at the same time. Jacob got to play goalie in the last have of his game he did really well. In the first half he was a forward and he did a fantastic job. I can see him doing very well in soccer. He is quick and he can read the ball already. Joey and Conner are on the same team. Now those games are interesting. Conner likes doing summer saults and is not at all interested in the ball, how ever running an chasing kids is a lot of fun. Joey understands the concept of chasing the ball and if you kick it you get to chase it some more. So why then do you want me to kick it into the goal, because then I can't kick it any more. He really likes jumping up and down and skipping the the best. It is more fun watching kids all do their silly thing. You definitely do not go to those games to watch "soccer".BRRRRR it was cold.

Yesterday was a day full of activity. We started the day by going over to grandpa Jensens 87th birthday. He is doing very well, his memory is actually improving and he will sit an visit with you. We had to leave early to try to make it to Caleb's football game, but I didn't make it so I will have to be sure and make it next Saturday. Caleb is playing quarterback. I guess he has quite the passing arm. Not only can he throw it far, he can also hit his target. He is feeling very good about himself, but he is not getting a big head. It has been extremely good for him. I see Grandma and grandpa going to a lot of JR. high and High school football games in the future.

Matt had a game against Weiser Saturday so after missing the football game we headed out for Weiser. It was not one of their best gamed they've played. We think they all had a little to much Homecoming the night before. Matt played and he didn't even play as well as he did in the last game. The score was not so good. 2 to 9.
The one of the referees was ok the other one was louzie. He was by Weisers goal and he didn't know what off side were. Oh well!!! They are setting up for penalty kick here. Yep that's Weiser and our goalie. They made it.

The boys came over when we got home and I was mowing the front yard. Jacob and Joey started playng tag. Erik got in on the action and started to play. It did not take the two older boys to figure out the Erik was an easy caught. Erik was then it and he could not caught the other two. I kept mowing the lawn in the middle of the game. Giggling but tiring out of trying get is older brothers, Erik stops and looks at grandma pushing the lawn mower. Then pretty soon I can see him out of the corner of my eye getting in position an then he came on a dead run right up behind me and slapped me on the back side. He started to giggle and run the other direction. He finally had got some body and he wasn't it no more. Grandma was now in the game. He was pretty pleased with himself. He is definitely a problem solver. Needless to say, grandma never got the lawn finished before I had to go to the Relief Society Broadcast. Was that a wonderful meeting.

SO there goes another day in my life. My tomatoes still are the bucket to be canned along with one more batch of pears. But I have the memory a little boy giggle in my ears.

Ok I am in trouble. Matt had a soccer game tonight. The Huskies against the Kuna Kaveman, we tied 3 to 3. It was an awesome game. Matt got to play, he did fantastic the best game he has ever played, and Mom forgot the camera. He really hustled and he even read where the ball was going. Mom and dad got pretty excited. After the game he went to the girls powder puff football game to watch Tosha play. She borrowed MAtts old soccer shoes from last year and his royal blue socks. After the powder puff game they are all going to the bomb fire. Oh to be young again.

Grandpa, Joey, and Mike had a great day last Monday. After everyone went to school, they loaded up the boats and went to Horsethief. All had a great time. Joey informed me when they returned home that he was the official net boy. I guess when he caught his first fish everyone around the lake could hear him giggle and shout with excitement. Boy did he think he was big stuff. Everyday comes and ask Grandpa if they can go fishing again. The fish in the middle is the big German Brown grandpa caught. Joey wants to go caught one of those big ones.

I took this picture of Matt and his team at the very end of his game. They played Bishop Kelly, they are supposed to be the team in the district. They lost but only 2 to 0. Matt got to play in the second half. He did a really good job, his foot work is really improving and he is getting more aggressive. Porter and Peyton can you see Uncle Matt, he is number 14. The coach told him he was really pleased with the way he was playing, and to keep up the good work.

Yesterday it rained like crazy, we received over an inch of rain in less than 24 hours. That is a lot for Poor Idaho. Wanda Fluckiger past away and I spent the day helping out at the funeral. We started at 9:00 am and stayed till after 6.

September 13,2008

Well today was just beautiful as far as the weather goes. It was about 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Matt and I got up this morning and went to the soccer games in Homedale. Matt has been really sick with tonsillitis the past three days but he was finely feeling better so he went. He was coughing pretty good so the coach didn't play him, he didn't want Matt to get sick again. They won though 4 to 2. Unlce Ned and Aunt Gloria came to the game it was really cool seeing them there.

Matt is driving himself to the stake dance tonight by himself, because he can now drive home when the the dance is over in the dark by himself. Ya know it's kinda hard to see your baby grow up. I am trying to decided if it is because I want him to stay around and let me mother for a lot longer, before he leaves and goes out into the world, or if I don't like the thoughts of just growing old. Oh well I guess I will just have to adjust.

September 7 ,2008

Shelly went through the temple in August and received her own endowments. It was a wonderful day for her and very special. Stephanie, Uncle James, Aunt Ellen, Grandma Gurney, Travis and Christiana all went to the temple with her. It was joy to be her escort. We truly missed those who were unable to attend.

Good afternoon. Today Grandpa and Mike and Joey went fishing. Joey was so excited he could hardly stand it. They aren't home yet so I am not sure how they did. The weather is wonderful today, it has been about 80 degrees down here so it should be about 70 up at Horsethief. Grandpa wanted to see if the fish they planted last spring had gotten any bigger. They took the pontoon boats.

Matt is playing soccer and he is doing very well. Lynn told him to set a goal everyday, no matter how small. Then work for that goal so that he could tell he was improving everyday. He has been doing that and he is getting excited because he can see improvement. Which in turn makes him feel better about himself.

Matt's 16th birthday

Yesterday was Matt's sixteen birthday. Wow can you believe it. Mom got up and made him his favorite breakfast of hash browns and bacon. Mom then surprised him by going and buying him a pepperoni pizza and setting on the front set of the pick up so he would find it when he went to eat his lunch. But then the day turned into a bummer when he went to soccer practice and the goal got suspended from the team. He was quite bummed about that. Then everyone one to the stake hamburger fry. We teased him saying he should stand and thank everyone for coming to his birthday party. When we returned home we had cake and ice cream. Everyone gave him money. No one could afford anything he wanted, so we decided we give him the cash. He could then add it up and decide what he wanted to get.
